This fee applies to participants who are currently enrolled at a university and have not yet obtained a PhD degree. Proof of student status is required.
ABB Young Professional Participation Awards
ABB, through the DSM community, is committed to promoting equitable access to international scientific and industrial conferences. To support this objective, ABB is sponsoring three Young Professional Participation Awards to enable talented early-career researchers and practitioners from economically developing countries to participate in DSM 2026.
Award Benefits
Each award includes:
- Full waiver of the DSM 2026 conference registration fee.
- Participation in the full DSM 2026 conference programme.
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled at a university and have not yet obtained a PhD degree,
- Demonstrate financial need and explain how participation in DSM 2026 would contribute to their professional development and future engagement with the DSM community.
- Priority will be given to authors or co-authors of an accepted DSM 2026 contribution in one of the following categories:
- Full Paper;
- Extended Abstract; or
- Industry Session Contribution.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit at dsmconference2026@promoest.com with:
- Proof of student status (or age upon request).
- A short curriculum vitae (maximum two pages).
- A motivation statement (maximum 500 words) describing:
- their background and current role;
- the relevance of their contribution to DSM 2026;
- the expected benefits of attending the conference; and
- the need for financial support.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated by a committee appointed by the DSM 2026 organizers based on:
- Quality and relevance of the accepted contribution;
- Applicant’s motivation and expected benefit from participation;
- Potential impact on the applicant’s professional development;
- Financial need (for example the applicant holds citizenship of a country classified as a Low-Income, Lower-Middle-Income, or Upper-Middle-Income Economy according to the latest World Bank country classification (please refer to World Bank Country and Lending Groups – World Bank Data Help Desk)
- Contribution to the diversity and inclusiveness of the DSM community.

Application Deadline: 22nd of July 2026.
Notification of Award Recipients: 30th of July 2026.
Conditions
Award recipients are expected to attend DSM 2026 in person.
The decisions of the selection committee are final.
